Job Description

As a Kitchen Assistant you are required to assist the Bistro Cook in ensuring that the high standards of cleanliness are met within the kitchen and assist with the efficient operation in the Bistro. You will also work alongside the Bistro Assistant(s) and Bistro Cook to ensure that all required areas are adhered to with regards to any food storage/food handling/preparation while complying with all food hygiene requirements and legislation. The main duties of the role will be ensuring all dishes, crockery and appliances are cleaned to a high standard and in a timely manner, ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen. You will assist with any food preparation, cooking and serving as required by the Bistro Cook.

Due to the nature of the tourism business, a flexible approach is required to enable the high levels of customer care to be achieved by all. This may often result in a change in daily tasks, an alteration of working hours and good working relationships to work as a team to produce the desired outcome. The Kitchen Assistant's hours will be varied to meet the needs of our business but will likely be a minimum of 16 hours per week worked mainly at weekends. Wage will be dependent on age.
